Community Agency Support Counselling
Program Description:
The Certificate of Applied Counselling Studies with a specialization in Community Agency Support Counselling explores the role of community counsellors dealing with: cultural diversity, special-needs populations, fund raising, and networking for various client groups, community settings and outreach programs. Students learn and practice basic counselling and administrative skills related to: community outreach programs, becoming a "change agent", influencing public policy, and advocating for clients. The courses emphasize the application of community-based counselling theory in simulated agency settings.
