  Getting Started

Mature individuals who wish to better understand themselves and others are invited to apply. Successful applicants come from a wide range of educational backgrounds and life experiences. Their common career goal is to earn a living while providing support and guidance to others.
 

Entrance Requirements

Grade 12 diploma or Adult Student Status (19 years of age and in the work force for at least one year)
Completion of the Counselling Aptitude Assessment (CAA). Responses to this questionnaire are used by the KCPC admissions department as a measure of an applicant's suitability for counsellor training and proficiency with the English language.
Students with preexisting medical, psychiatric or substance related conditions that may interfere with their ability to complete the training program require a letter of recommendation from an attending specialist.
Admissions interview with an Admission Advisor in-person or by phone.
Signed agreement with confidentiality and participation policies
Proof of funding

After receiving a Letter of Acceptance, students are ready to join the next course, either on-campus or through distance education.

Enrollment is on a continuous basis. In case of a waiting list students will be admitted on a first come, first served basis.

  For BC Students Only whose applications are approved by the College, you may apply to StudentAid BC on their online application site for a student loan, if needed.
