Diploma in Applied Psychology and Counselling
The Diploma program can be completed online in just one year. The customized curriculum allows you to choose from four areas of specialization:
- professional counselling
- addiction counselling
- counselling therapy
- psychotherapy
(Admittance into counselling therapy, or psychotherapy specializations require an undergraduate degree.)
Depending on your area of specialization you’ll learn specific skills required for entry-to-mid-level employment in mental health agencies, hospitals, recovery programs, and/or private practice. Diploma graduates are prepared to provide treatment for a variety of issues such as:
- addiction counselling
- depression, anxiety and other related disorders
- addictions: prevention, recovery and follow-up treatment
- youth, family and couples’ issues
- suicide and emergency intervention
- loss and grief
- abuse, trauma and domestic violence

Certificate of Applied Counselling Studies
The 7-month Certificate program (made up of 9 courses), is geared to individuals with prior learning or experience in the mental health field, and who intend to enhance their knowledge and clinical skills in one specific area of practice. Specialized certificates are offered in:
- Sex and Intimacy Counselling
- Youth and Family Counselling
- Life Skills Coaching
- Support Counsellor
- Community-Based Counselling
- Spiritual/Faith-based Counselling
- Practice of Psychotherapy
- Counselling Therapy
- Addiction Counselling
- Customized certificate (design a certificate in your area of professional interest)
